In 2015 we offered free tutoring services to the children in the community due to the Kenya Teachers Strike in Ndenderu town.
During the strike, children were able to continue learning basic English, reading, maths and computer tablet skills.
The ages of the children were between 7 to 11 years of age who participated.
An Inspiration to do more
Parents encouraged us to start an organization for raising funds to help with children's education.
This inspiring moment in time laid the foundation for J.Lynne Africa C.D.O
The Challenges
Kenya’s public primary educational school system has many challenges and problems with;
- Infrastructural under-developments.
- Teachers are without jobs.
- Lack of classrooms causing pupil overcrowding.
- Insufficient financial support from the government.
- Lack of school transportation.
- Lack of affordable and nutritious meal programs for the children.
- Clean water systems,
- Lack of recreation and sports infrastructural development in the schools.
- Poor sanitation management.
Poverty causing parents not to afford the school fees.
Since 2015 many schools are slowly advancing out of poverty but still public primary schools are struggling to catch up.
Also the rise of cost of living in Kenya has caused put a strain on families and schools which has resulted in inadequate resources in schools.
